SONIA GRUTMAN:

Haii, my name is Sonia Grutman and I am a young painter, loyal to oil paints, large-scale work, and unease inducing scenes. This series, titled A lamb resigned to slaughter, explores the body and how it is regarded within religion. My body is disgusting yet beautiful and taboo yet scrutinized and is only a temporary temple for my soul, thus should be kept pure. There are so many contradicitng ideas that torture my mind and invariably torture my body. Nonetheless my sins show; my body is no unadulterated temple, and I am no chosen.
